Bhaduri began Originally a sportsperson, playing badminton and squash at a national level, Bhaduri begun painting in 1977. She gave away her early artworks to friends and family, and then began to sell paintings once she realised that people were willing to pay for them. During her career Bhaduri has created works in a variety of styles, including abstract art, landscapes and figurative paintings. Although she primarily works in oils, in 2002 she also experimented with abstract sculpture. She has predominantly worked in oils for the last three decades and has also experimented in several mediums like acrylic, stain glass, fiberglass and scrap metal sculpture. Space fascinates Madhuri. The events across her canvas are intuitive, intense immediate and direct. She depicts her interaction of mind and matter in a dialogue of brush and paint that is warm, vivid and sensual to the eye. In these form space compositions it is color that holds together the spatial composition. Her colors resound with the message of her inner spirit where there is hope, joy, beauty and fulfillment. At their best Madhuri's paintings catch the charm of everyday world in every possible hue and tones. They explore the inner self through a highly innovative symbolism and transcend the idea of self discovery with great gusto! After studying French at the Alliance Française in Pune, Bhaduri graduated with a Master's degree in Art from the University of Mumbai in 1988. EXHIBITION: Her paintings were purchased by many private collectors, including Gayatri Devi, Ajay Piramal, Aditya Vikram Birla and Jamshed Bhabha (former chairman of Tata Sons). As well as shows in her native India, Bhaduri's work has also been the subject of a solo exhibition in Dubai. AWARDS: In 2016 Bhaduri received the All Ladies League award for "Iconic leadership in Art, Design & Entrepreneurship", as well as the Sarojini Naidu National Award for Women. 1988 Awarded ‘Best Designer’ CEAD award for the Industrial Calendar Project.
