Sohan Qadri completed his master's from the Fine Arts, Government College of Art, Shimla in 1955-60. He is a Copenhagen-based artist who was introduced to yogic practices at the young age of seven. He also got the title of “Tantric yogi artist” from Francis Newton Souza. Experience: He worked on paper where he covered the surface of the paper with structural effects by soaking it in liquid and carving it in several stages while applying inks and dyes. The repetition of careful incisions on the paper was an integral part of his meditation. His works have been included in numerous collections, including those of the Peabody Essex Museum, Massachusetts; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, California; the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto; the Rubin Museum of Art, New York; the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi; as well as the private collections of Cirque du Soleil, Heinrich Böll and Dr. Robert Thurman.
