Badri Nath Arya did Diploma in Fine arts, Government College of Art and Craft, Lucknow in 1952-56. He is considered the last exponent of the Watercolor wash technique and imagery of the Neo-Bengal School in North India. He has mostly done his paintings in the double-elephant size papers. His paintings depicted the life of poor and common working people along with epic-puranic and Kavya themes. He often expressed the shadow of death and decay through his paintings. Experience: Badri Nath Arya was commissioned to paint in his inimitable style themes from the Mahabharata (1967), Rubaiyat - I - Omar Khayyam (1974), and the Git Govind of Jayadev (1975). He also executed the murals for the U.P. Pavillion at the Agro Expo, New Delhi in 1977 and 1980. He participated in the 15th International Exhibition, Tokyo, 1987, and Second International Asian-European Art Biennale, Ankara, Turkey, in 1988.
